What is the difference between manual and automated Digital Badges?

Manual Badges will require Talent users to apply for the Digital Badge. The Badge will then need to be reviewed by a member of the organization and manually awarded, rejected, or revoked depending on if the applicant meets the criteria to earn the Badge. Manual Badges can be made public to allow Talent to discover and apply on their own.

Automated Badges allow Talent to simply review and claim the Badge. Once they do, they will automatically be awarded the Badge. You will still be able to manage awarded Badges and change the status to rejected or revoked if needed. Automated Badges cannot be made public to Talent as they are intended to give full control to your organization and terms of how the Badge is shared.

Automated Badges can also be associated with Opportunities. This allows your organization to connect a specific opportunity with a Badge to allow for easy awarding of that Badge through the Opportunity summary page.
